Circa 1930s Silk Haori Jacket: Green x Yellow x Orange Circle, Rose, Abstract stripe pattern
Hand made, hand sewn in Japan.
Period: circa 1930s'
Material: Silk (inside and outside)
Technique: Meisen Omeshi Silk Ikat weaving
Pattern: Circle, Rose, Abstract stripe
Inside material and pattern: Silk, Orange botanical pattern
This kimono can be worn reversible. Both sides are seamless.
This kimono features rose, which was not found in Kimonos until late 19th or early 20th century, because roses were imported from Europe. And Rose pattern in kimono design became very popular between young ladies in the Japanese art deco period of Japan, 1920-or 30s. Meisen, or Meisen Oeshi, this type of flat weaving textiles was very popular among the young ladies and most of Meisen textiles were produced in Gunma prefecture, north of Tokyo area. However there is very very little numbers of Meisen fabric makers exist nowadays. So we can find this textile kimonos only from vintage (almost).
This haori jacket is called Nagabaori (longer length jacket). It is slightly longer than usual haori jackets.

All measurements are taken from the back when the kimono is placed on a flat surface.

Condition:
Excellent vintage condition. This kimono is approximately 100 years old. There may be mild sign of age, however I don't find no major stains, damages or fault. I try to describe the kimono as accurate as possible.

kimonos are box-shape. it will fit many sizes.

Returns and exchange details
- All sales are final.
- Color may vary from monitor to monitor; returns are not accepted for reasons to do with color.
- Returns are not accepted if something doesn't fit, so please be familiar with your measurements. I'm happy to provide any additional information / measurements that you might need.
- All of my items are vintage and pre-loved unless mentioned. I do my best to note any flaws, however, it is possible that a garment may have a small flaw that has accidentally been overlooked. I will offer a refund only if an item has been largely misrepresented.
- Returns of this nature must be return postmarked within 3 days of receipt, and received in the condition in which they were sent out. Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer.
